Continuing to build upon their range of Pod and All-In-One vape devices. Voopoo has certainly aimed for style when it comes to the Vinci mod pod. However looks alone, don’t make a good vaping experience. Consequentially, Voopoo utilise pre-existing Mouth To Lung and Direct to Lung coils from their Plug n Play range. Tried and tested there is a good range of choice. Additionally a new PnP single mesh coil aimed for Nic Salt users, is included with the Vinci mod pod. Taking advantage of the 40 W capability of this 1500 mAh interchangeable coil AIO device.

Packaging for the Vinci Mod Pod is as sleek and smart as the device itself. Upon the front of the outer sleeve, features the logos of both Voopoo and the Vinci Mod Pod, and a laminated picture of the device. Additionally there is the Best Hardware Award 2019, from the ecc event 2019.

Inside the box the Vinci Mod Pod instantly grabs your attention, sat along side are the two enclosed coils. Whilst underneath the foam layer lays the white box, containing the USB cable, and documentation that comes with the Vinci. Build quality

Design and build quality of the Vinci mod pod is super sleek and rather beautiful. Whilst facing head on, the Vinci reminds me of a slim bottle of Chanel Number 5, and would be perfect for any handbag. Importantly nor would the Vinci look out of place in the hands of anyone. Be it a suit jacket, or pocket, the Vinci would actually look good on any night out on the town.

Despite its looks, the Vinci Mod Pod feels perfectly sturdy and robust. However while its finish is a little bit of a finger print magnet, it looks like it may get scratched up a bit.

Featuring a 0.96″ colour TFT screen, the output is crisp and plenty bright. While all the buttons are very responsive, with a good amount of clicky feedback. Clearly laid out on the screen is an incredible amount of data, while remaining readable at almost an arms reach. Yet another example of the quality put into the Voopoo Vinci Mod Pod.

The moulding for the pod itself is perfect, furthermore featuring a simple yet highly effective method for changing the airflow to better suit the coil. Moreover the Plug N Play (PnP) coils are perfectly sealed with no leaking.

Dimensionally the Vinci is 104 mm high, 25.3 mm wide, and 25.3 mm deep while weighing 111.52 grams. Aesthetically the square design looks great on the Vinci Mod Pod whilst remaining comfortable to hold.

Following the custom of vaping mods, 5 clicks on the firing button will turn on the Voopoo Vinci Mod Pod. Whilst initialising the screen will display an animated Voopoo logo, and Vinci Gene.AI firmware version.

Thanks to the new GENE.AI chip, the Vinci can be fired and vaped in three different ways. Furthermore to change the firing modes, press the fire button three times in quick succession.

Firstly we have the usual P mode which corresponds to the user pressing the fire button in order to vaporise the e-liquid.

Secondly we have an Automatic and P mode. Consequentially this allows the user to either vape whilst pressing down the fire button or simply inhaling without needing to touch the button. Furthermore if your finger is getting tired of all the hard work mid vape, you can take your finger off the fire button and just keep inhaling.

Finally is the full Automatic mode, which simply runs like a lot of pods on the market by simply inhaling and the fire button is left disabled.

Additionally whilst vaping the Vinci Mod Pod records your puff counts for the last two weeks. Access is via holding down both the up and down buttons together. Personally I cant see a use for the puff counters unless as a means of monitoring medicinal CBD usage.

As soon as the mod is on you are into the only vape mode available on the Vinci, the variable wattage mode. As a result the up and down buttons serve to increase or decrease the wattage output to the coil.

The Vinci mod pod can be locked so that it can’t be accidentally fired in your pocket or bag. This is activated by holding down the up and fire buttons at the same time, and the same procedure again to unlock.

If so inclined, (A big yawn), holding down both the up and down buttons will bring you into the puff counter history mode. While holding down the fire button and down button clears the puff count for that day.

Aside from the puff counter and power mode, there is however a confusing option available to the user. Let’s start by holding down the up, down, and fire buttons simultaneously. Here in this new menu, we can set the time. Up and down changes values, while the fire button moves to the next number. Finally to set simply the time hold the fire button down again until you are back in wattage mode.

Great so I can check the time in between vapes. Actually no you cannot, there simply is no way to see the time. So why include this ? Perhaps future software monitoring of puff duration at time of day. Perhaps they forgot to add the clock in the firmware. Chances are we will never know.

Battery Use

Charging is via the supplied USB cable at 5 Volts 1 Amp, with charging times around an hour forty five minutes.

Battery life is good, lasting just over a day with moderate use when vaping at the top end of 40 W with the PnP-VM1 0.3Ω coil. While with the 0.8Ω PnP R1 coil at 12 – 13 W lasting around three days.

Interestingly the USB socket is placed on the base of the Vinci Mod Pod, while initially wary of leaks, there was none. Moreover if you look closely at the circle design on the base, it is sat back slightly. Perhaps a dock is in the works for the Vinci Mod Pod.

If you look closely, on three sides of the pod there is a line towards the bottom which lines up with the bottom of the coils wicking holes. While this may not be intentional however, consequentially this serves as an unobtrusive refill level indicator.

While refilling is simple enough, however you do need to remove the pod from the Vinci mod in order to reach the refill hole. Although easy to refill, it would have been handy to have a top fill method, as there is certainly the space to have implemented one.

While the Voopoo Vinci Mod Pod doesn’t quite have an adjustable airflow, However you do have the option of rotating the pod 180˚ to choose either a tighter draw or an airflow that is more loose. With the later best for the Nic Salt mesh and DTL vaping and vice versa.

Coil Replacement

Replacing the coil is extremely easy with Voopoo’s PnP coils. Simply remove the pod, pull out the old coil, and insert your new coil. Now replace the pod back into the mod and leave about 15 – 20 minutes to saturate the coil.

Furthermore you can help the initial wicking by drawing the juice into the cotton. Firstly put your fingers over the airflow holes on the side, and inhale as if vaping but with the Vinci Mod Pod turned off. Continue todo so until you begin to slightly taste the e-liquid, and leave for about 10 – 15 minutes.

DTL PnP-VM1 0.3 Ω Coil

As expected the wicking with the 0.3Ω PnP-VM1 is good, happily wicking on 70VG. However you can feel, that the juice flow when chain vaping is not quite keeping up. By no means is it a dry hit, it however causes the flavour to drop, when continuously vaping at 35 – 40 W. But with its intended purpose being Nic Salts the chances are you will not be chain vaping quite as heavily.

Longevity wise the PnP-VM1 is not quite as good as the PnP-R1, nonetheless it is still lasting over a week with moderate use. While retaining flavour throughout this time, the PnP-VM1 has a good range of flavour profiles, with Lemon Meringue coming through beautifully.

DTL PnP-R1 0.8 Ω Coil

The PnP-R1 0.8 Ω coil wicks and vapes happily on 70 VG without a hint of a dry hit, whilst retaining good flavour. Additionally the flow is nice and smooth, and makes an enjoyable vape at around 10 – 12 w. Furthermore the PnP-R1 is still going strong and the longevity of this coil is very good.

Like the vast majority of pod and All in One kits the flavours tend to lend themselves more towards the fruits and creams, with the PnP-R1 pulling some great notes of flavour out of custards.

Voopoo’s Vinci Mod Pod is powered by the new Gene.AI chip, allowing not only automatic inhaling but offers seven safety features to keep you and the Vinci Mod Pod system safe.

  • 10s time out to protect against coil burn out.
  • Short circuit protection to protect the battery.
  • Protection from overcharging the battery.
  • Output over protection, to ensure your output stays within limits to the needs of the Vinci Mod Pod, protecting you and the All In One.
  • Discharge battery protection so your battery does not get too low and becomes unusable.
  • Max power protection, helping to prevent your coils from burning out.
  • Over-temperature Protection, a form of TC for the mod ensuring both the battery and electronics remain within a safe temperature range.

The one minor niggle I can find with the Voopoo Vinci Mod Pod, is the condensation that can build up. While easily cleaned, perhaps a thin piece of cotton cut to shape would make this a quick and effortless job. Similar to the cotton condensation plugs that users of the Billet Box utilise.

While not a niggle, why on earth would you be able to set a clock without the clock being displayed. Furthermore this could have been a very stylish addition to the Vinci Mod, if done right.

Voopoo’s Vinci Mod Pod is one of those vape kits, that is just enjoyable to use. It is hard not to enjoy the Vinci. With its stylish looks, comfortable handling and good flavour production. While it may not hold a huge battery capacity, the battery life ratio seems very well balanced for vape performance and power output. Furthermore the charging time is quick at well under 2 hours. So even if you are at work, you could actually charge the Vinci Mod Pod before your next break.

Without a doubt the Vinci Mod Pod from Voopoo is ideal for both experienced and new users, especially when each Voopoo PnP coil has the recommended wattage range printed onto the coils.

So is the Voopoo Vinci Mod Pod the AIO of the year so far ? With its stylish looks, and good performance, it is most definitely a contender.
